I offer many different tours in Cádiz like walkings with the Cathedral, Tavira Tower, Romain Theatre Ruins, Tapas and the surroundings such as Jerez with Sherry Wines and Horses, the White Mountain Villages with Olive Oil Factories, the famous Payoyo Cheeses tasting...and much more.
Hi! My name is Juan Antonio and I would like to be the person to ensure you have an amazing experience.
Welcome to Cadiz, the place where I was born back in the sixties. Since then the city and its surroundings have changed a lot, and I am lucky to have been part of this development.
I graduated in Tourism and years later in Public Relations and International Business, both degrees were studied in Jerez and Madrid, where I completed a Master in Tourism as well.
I always wanted to learn more about different cultures and that is why I lived in the USA, Venezuela, England and Germany for seven years in the past. This is how I came to speak English and German fluently with spanish being my mother tongue. I continue to travel as much as I can because I think that is the best way to get to know each other and to enjoy life.
I have been working as a guide for more than twenty five years and it has become my passion. It is a pleasure to share all these beautiful corners of Andalusia with so many different guests looking for unique experiences and moments. Cadiz is one of the oldest cities in Europe being more than three thousand years old and definitely I am the right person to make you feel how important the Phoenicians, Carthaginians, Romans, Visigoths and Muslims were, leaving their trace in this city. I would love to share with you the hidden corners of the city so linked to America since the Discovery in 1492. This place was the principal entry port for all the ships coming back from America, imagine Columbus looking for sailors here and preparing his first trip to America. It was in the 18th Century when Cadiz finally controlled 100% of the Trade with America and when the Cathedral and Townhall were built.
Cadiz was one of the locations for a James Bond film 'Die Another Day' with Halle Berry and Pierce Brosnan, where I had the pleasure to be his guide…Cadiz is not only rich in History, but Folklore and Gastronomy are also very important. Flamenco and Tapas will be an essential part of your visit.
Let me show you around! I can personalize a tour for you depending on your wishes and expectations. Walking tours focus on the History, White Mountain Villages where we combine Olive Oil Tasting, Goat and Sheep Cheese Tasting, Wines and more, Jerez with Sherry Wineries and Horses, Cadiz and Natural Salt Beds. . . and many more options.
Just tell me your preferences and schedule and I shall come up with an itinerary that suits your requirements and personal profile.
