We will get an early start, departing Cape town for the beautiful seaside village of Hermanus, known for its "Champagne fresh air" and possibly being the best land-based whale watching bay in the world.

After arriving in nearby Gansbaai you will enjoy a light breakfast, get briefed about the trip and then kitted out with a snug-fitting wetsuit before boarding the boat (no diving qualification required as tanks are not used). The duration of the combo can be up to 5 hrs. Southern Right whals an Bryes whales are most likely to be seen. The surrounding ocean is rich in marine life with huge pods of dolphins, some seals, penguins and various bird life often making guest appearances. (Kindly note that you don't have to go into the water, you can also watch from the boat).

After getting up close n personal with these 'gentle giants' you will get to take a quick hot shower and enjoy a complimentary warm beverage. The combo special will leave less time for wine tasting unless we arrive super-early at 7am (5am Cape town departure -8am standard departure) As we pass through Hermanus we'll take a slow drive past the local beaches and find time to enjoy a stroll through the quaint village, rubbing shoulders with locals, exploring boutiques, the local market and whale museum.

If time permits we will stop at a local winery before heading home. As we leave this beautiful village we'll stop on a hilltop for some final snapshots of this beautiful bay below.. then back on the road along Clarence drive, a stunning coastal rout home, often with the sun setting to our left..
