After the pickup at the arrival station at the port of Tanger Ville (the Meeting point) we’ll take a ride through different neighborhoods and surrounding areas, including several stops at amazing viewpoints, a short break at Cape Spartel where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Mediterranean Sea, a visit to the mythical Caves of Hercules after Camel riding on the golden sands of Ashqar Beach.
After our tour of the cave and enjoying its picturesque view overlooking the ocean, its unique architecture, and the shapes of all the stalactites and stalagmites, we will return to the Kasbah
The second portion of the tour, consists of an extensive walk through the maze of narrow streets and alleyways of the Kasbah (fortress), for an insight into a rich architectural heritage that includes a 15th century city wall, and numerous buildings of Arab-Andalusian style, that have inspired great artists and painters among them Eugène Delacroix, Henri Matisse, William S. Burroughs The author of "The Naked Lunch", Tennessee Williams: The American writer, author of famous plays such as "A Streetcar Named Desire," also resided in Tangier in the 1940s and 1950s. He wrote several of his works there, Truman Capote: The American writer, known for "Breakfast at Tiffany's," also frequented Tangier, ....
Then heading for the Medina (old town), which represents a major center of interest to get a taste of the local culture and lifestyle through the ambiance of its busy markets and streets, communal ovens, steam baths, artisanal shops.. and lively squares. It is also home to an important Jewish and Christian heritage.
The tour also provides the opportunity to experience the genuine Moroccan cuisine, and the vibrant atmosphere of the souks where craftsmen and merchants make/sell their traditional items.
