Our exploration begins at Republic Square, the vibrant heart of Yerevan. Surrounded by impressive pink tuff-stone architecture and accompanied by the gentle sound of the singing fountains, we dive into the unique atmosphere of this historic city.
From here, we stroll along Abovyan Street, one of Yerevan’s oldest streets, where charming 19th-century buildings blend seamlessly with modern boutiques and cozy cafés. This street reflects the city’s past and leads us to a Soviet-era landmark: the Moskva Cinema, a popular gathering place for culture and film lovers.
Just a short walk away awaits the peaceful oasis of St. Anna Church. This architectural gem combines traditional and modern styles, creating a serene atmosphere—an ideal moment to pause and unwind.
Next, we enjoy a culinary experience: in a traditional restaurant, we prepare and taste “Jengyalov Hats”, a herb-filled flatbread originally from Mountainous Karabakh—an absolute must for food lovers! A traditional Armenian drink is also included.
Refreshed, we head to the metro station “Yeritasardakan.” We take the subway to the Government and Parliament buildings and stop for memorable photos. Then we continue to one of Yerevan’s most iconic landmarks: the Cascade. This monumental staircase connects the lower and upper parts of the city and offers breathtaking views of Yerevan and the majestic Mount Ararat.
Nearby lies the charming Saryan Park, where local artists exhibit their works—a wonderful chance to experience Armenian art up close and perhaps take home a unique painting.
Our walk continues to the Opera House, an architectural masterpiece and an important cultural center of the city.
We finish our tour back at Republic Square, which glows beautifully in the evening light. A perfect ending to an unforgettable day in the heart of Yerevan.
