The Dinaride mountain range that streches along the eastern Adriatic coast (from italy to Albania) is a carst region with mountains made of porous lime stone. The rainwater drains through the lime underground and crates the world of neverending caves and pits and underground rivers that come out as actual rivers.

The Krka river is just one of many rivers that flow into the Adriatic sea. This river has nine offical springs. It is 73 km long and flows into the Adriatic sea through its 24 long brakish estruary where the medieval Croatian city of Šibenik found its strategally excellent denfense location.

On its way to the sea the Krka river creates seven known waterfalls, Skradinski buk as the most visited one.

This is a tour for nature lovers that would like to spend a day hiking along the Krka river, up and down its flow - with not only beautiful nature, but industrial heritage as well, restauraants, souvenir shops, local women selling local snacks.

Nearby cities you may opt to visit: Skradin, Šibenik.
