My name is Csilla – Mónika Kerepesi. I was born and raised in Hungary. I studied sociology and worked as a sociologist and researcher in large market research companies, and taught sociology at the Budapest University of Economics. When I first visited Greece, I fell in love not only with the country but also with my future husband and became – as we say – a love immigrant. I learned the Greek language relatively quickly, but as a sociologist I couldn’t find a job, so quite by chance I started working in a tourist agency as a tour leader and interpreter, and I accompanied Hungarian tourists all over Greece. This is how my very close relationship with tourism began, 20 years ago… My husband and I have 2 children and we live in Kallithea, Pieria, which is located between Katerini and Paralia Katerini, very close to the magnificent Mount Olympus and Dion. As soon as I learned that the Tour Guide School in Thessaloniki was reopening, without a second thought I applied, was accepted and successfully completed my studies. I really like nature and working outdoors. Besides guiding, I love hiking and working on our family kiwi and walnut plantation. But most of all, I really love travelling and sharing my knowledge and experience with travellers visiting Greece. I firmly believe that a tour guide should be the ambassador of the country where he tours and make visitors feel that they learned everything they wanted and want to come back! It gives me great joy when I see familiar faces in the group who are impatiently waiting for me to accompany them on our next adventure… I speak excellent Hungarian (it is my native language) and English.
