Gondar is one of the historical cities of Ethiopia next to Aksum and Lalibela, founded in 1632 by its founder king Fasiledes. Its ancient castels and churches are the main tourist hotsposts. Once Gondar was a center of politics, religion, trade and art.
ITINERARY
Day 1- Addis Ababa
Arrive Addis Ababa, transfer to hotel then go for a city tour of National museum, Trinity Cathedral, Markato, the biggest open air market in Africa, mount Entoto and more. O/n hotel
Day 2- Addis Ababa-Gondar-
Take breakfast and leave your hotel for your flight to Gondar. Balance of the day, visit the royal enclosure, bath of king Fasiledes, the church of Trinity and monastery of Kuskuam Mariam. O/n hotel
Day 3- Gondar-Simen Mountains-Gondar
Fullday in Gondar with day trip to Simen mountains national park. Do hiking and game drive upto Sankaber campsite. Enjoy magnificent scenery of the Simen escarpments, Jinbar water fall (Aug-Oct is best time), meet the endemic Gelada Babbons and other wildlifes. Late afternoon, drive back to Gondar with a dtop at the former village of Ethiopian Jewish. O/n hotel
Day 4- Gondar-Addis Ababa.
After you have your breakfast, fly to Addis Ababa and do more sightseeing and shopping. After farewell dinner at tradational restaurant, transfer to aitport for your departure home.
