George has been interested in wine since the very early days of the Cape Wine Routes – influenced by the forward-thinking maverick estates, he built up a great love of wine and its culture as well as a significant wine cellar. Formalising his knowledge with a Cape Wine Academy Certificate, he also became very involved with many of the top wine farms handling electronic marketing and wine club administration on their behalf. A long-term business relationship with Kim has cemented and added immensely to his knowledge, culminating in a successful additional qualification as a cultural & historical tour guide. He has a superb knowledge of the Cape and all its components – from history through geography, geology, sociology and anthropology.
