This 2-hours walking tour starts from the main Jelacic square, continues along with most interesting points of Zagreb including Upper and Downtown. The Cathedral (biggest roman-catholic church in Croatia), open market Dolac , Tkalciceva street and Bloody Bridge street ( it’s a small street but once there was a bridge connecting these two old settlements, Kaptol and Gradec). On the way to the Upper Town we pass through the famous Stonegate - the last remaining gate from the old city walls and continue to the St. Marko‘s square with its beautiful St. Marko‘s church, one of the oldest architectural monuments in Zagreb. There are also House of Parliament and Government and many other prominent institutions and museums.
Back to the Downtown, we continue to the National theatre, till Preradovic Square, a very popular meeting place famous for its flower stands and coffee places. Lower Town is home to several museums, parks and historic buildings from 19th and 20th century.
I finished University of Economics in Zagreb and work in tourism since 2013. I have many years of experience and besides economics I like history, art, culture also traveling by myself. This job keeps me open minded so I find also fascinating learning about other countries and cultures. I will be glad to show you my hometown!
