Do you know that just 30mn to 1 hour on train from Paris, you can be totally immersed in the Nature ? During your stay in Paris, how about doing something different and taking a hike in the most beautiful forests, the most scenic countryside, and the most quaint villages.
Having crisscrossed the Paris Region on foot with a Hiking Club I started 7 years ago, I want to share with you some of my discoveries. Places you would never go because they are not offered with traditional touristic tours, such as the marshland of Essonnes, a birds watching paradise, or the longest Sequoia alley in Europe (who would have known?), the beautiful Fontainebleau Forest, or on the footsteps of Vincent Van Gogh.
Usually the walk is around 12 to 14 km (8 to 9 miles) at a gentle pace and can be totally customized.

I am always stunned by how people living here always feel unhappy and always complain about what is wrong in this country for them. For me, France is a paradise inhabited by people who think they are living in hell.

I recently started a business called " Go Hiking Paris", to provide hiking tours in the countryside to tourists visiting Paris. An "off track" experience, that will lead you to hidden venues you would never go otherwise.
