Gavino Strebel – local private tour Guide in Zurich, Switzerland
Authentic private tours in Switzerland and Europe, designed for travelers who want to discover hidden landscapes, local culture, nature, wildlife, and meaningful experiences away from the usual tourist routes.
I am Gavino Strebel, a Swiss geographer, nature conservation specialist, and founder of Suisse Plus. I hold an MSc in Geography and Nature Conservation and have a strong passion for the outdoors, travel, wildlife, and meaningful cultural experiences. My work is shaped by a deep appreciation for natural landscapes, local communities, and responsible tourism.
Over the years, I have gained extensive experience in nature conservation in Switzerland, ecotourism in Indonesia, and community-based tourism in Vietnam. These experiences have helped me understand how tourism can be designed in a thoughtful and sustainable way, creating value for travelers while respecting local people, culture, and the natural environment.
Switzerland is famous for its mountains, lakes, villages, and high-quality travel experiences. However, beyond the well-known sights, there are many lesser-known places that reveal a more authentic and peaceful side of the country. I enjoy helping visitors discover these special places, including quiet valleys, traditional villages, scenic trails, local food experiences, wildlife areas, and landscapes of outstanding natural beauty that are often missed by standard tourist routes.
I offer carefully designed private travel experiences in Switzerland and Europe for travelers who are looking for something more personal, authentic, and memorable. My tours are ideal for visitors who enjoy nature, culture, education, photography, hiking, local traditions, and slow travel. I focus on creating experiences that are comfortable, well-organized, flexible, and adapted to each client’s interests, pace, and expectations.
In addition to my background in geography and conservation, I also have excellent knowledge of European educational institutions. I have studied at respected universities including University College London, King’s College London, and the University of Zurich. This academic background allows me to provide deeper insight into Switzerland and Europe, including their landscapes, environment, history, culture, and education systems.
As a guide and travel designer, I believe that the best journeys are not only about visiting beautiful places, but also about understanding them. I enjoy sharing stories about the natural environment, local communities, conservation, and the connection between people and place. My approach is professional, friendly, flexible, and detail-oriented.
Whether travelers are visiting Switzerland for the first time or returning to explore more deeply, my goal is to create meaningful journeys beyond the typical tourist experience. I help clients discover an authentic and unseen side of Switzerland and Europe, away from the beaten path and closer to nature, culture, and local life.
